Kellie Martin is an American actor and actress on television and film. She is popular for her role in the roles of Christy Huddleston in the period drama series "Christy Christy', Rebecca Thatcher in the family drama 'Life Goes On The Life Goes On', and Lucy Knight in the medical drama "ER". Also, she is known for appearing in the titular role in the 'Hailey Dean Mystery' series. Martin, the daughter of a department store purchaser and kindergarten teacher began her professional career as an actress at age seven when her aunt who worked as the nanny of Michael Landon's children helped Martin to get her a character in the 1981's series "Father Murphy". Following after her Yale University graduation, she began to concentrate on acting. She was able to land substantial roles in both television and cinema. Martin as well as being an accomplished actor and dancer, she is also an accomplished ballet photographer. Martin is the mother of two and the spokesperson of Lupus. Since her 19-year-old sister's death Martin has been working to raise awareness about Lupus and its symptoms.
